Paul Gauvard
Bio
Born in 2001 in Webster, Texas, Paul Gauvard grew up in a musical family. Although born in the United States, he grew up in the Paris suburb of Houilles. At the age of 7, he began studying classical piano and solfeggio at the local conservatory. At home, his parents introduced him to a wide range of musical styles, from Bach to Miles Davis, Iron Maiden to Stromae.
n his teens, he developed a passion for hard rock, then metal, with bands like Metallica and Gojira. In high school, he began playing electric guitar and composing and producing on DAW. The music speciality class enabled him to discover and analyze new musical styles: rap, jazz, chanson, contemporary music. Artists such as Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, György Ligeti, Vald, Orelsan and Metro Boomin had a profound influence on his compositional work.

In 2018 he created Divof, originally a pseudonym under which he published his compositions on Youtube. Over the years Divof became an instrumental Metal project of its own.
Alongside music, he is also passionate about and practises visual arts, notably animated films, street art, comics and caricature.


After high school in 2019, he studied animation at the Atelier de Sèvres in Paris. Although passionate about drawing, he took more pleasure in composing soundtracks for film projects than making them.
That's why, in 2020, he entered Paris Sorbonne University to study musicology. But after a one-year degree, he decided to concentrate on his training as a contemporary music musician, and joined EDIM in Cachan.
In 2022, he entered the American School of Modern Music. For three years, he continued to train as a musician, perfecting his composition and production techniques.
